Hi Baby! is a pregnancy diary for iPhone. This page says what the app keeps, what it sends, and what it never touches. It describes the app as it actually behaves; if the app changes, this page changes with it.
What stays on your phone
Everything you record about your pregnancy stays on the device:
- ultrasound photos
- visit dates and the week of pregnancy
- measurements — estimated weight, crown-rump length, heart rate
- the notes you write
- your due date and baby profile
- which prenatal checkups you have marked as done
None of it is uploaded. There is no account to create, no server holding your baby's pictures, and no copy of your diary anywhere but your phone. The app's main features work with no network connection at all.
If you export a backup, the file is written to wherever you choose to put it. From that moment the file is yours to look after — if you place it in iCloud Drive or email it to yourself, it goes where you sent it.
What the app does send
Three Google services are built into the app.
Analytics
The app records which screens are opened and which actions are taken, so it is possible to tell which parts are used and which are not. Every event is defined individually in the app's source, and they carry only counters and yes/no flags — for example that a diary entry was saved and how many photos it had, or that the share card was opened.
No pregnancy information is included in any event. Not your due date, not a measurement, not a note, not a photo, not the week you are in. This is a rule the app is written to enforce rather than a promise: analytics can only be reached through a small set of named functions, so adding a field would mean changing that file on purpose.
Analytics data is processed by Google Analytics for Firebase and is tied to an app instance identifier, not to you by name.
Crash reports
When the app crashes, a report is sent through Firebase Crashlytics so the fault can be found and fixed. A report contains the state of the program at the moment it failed — device model, iOS version, and where in the code it stopped. It does not contain your diary.
Configuration and messages
The app fetches settings from Firebase Remote Config, and can show a short message inside the app through Firebase Remote Config or Firebase In-App Messaging. This is a download, not an upload.
Those messages are never aimed using your pregnancy data. Audiences are built from ordinary app behaviour, such as how long it has been since the app was last opened.
Advertising
The app shows ads through Google AdMob, which is what keeps it free.
AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier to choose which ads to show and to measure them. On iOS you are asked first: the system permission dialog decides whether that identifier can be used, and declining is a normal answer — you will still see ads, just less relevant ones. You can change your mind at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Ad content is limited to the PG rating or below. None of your pregnancy information is given to the ad network, and ads are not targeted with it.
Google's own handling of that data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Photo library
The app asks for permission to reach your photo library only so you can pick an ultrasound picture to add to the diary. It reads the picture you choose and copies it into the app's own storage. It does not browse, index or upload the rest of your library.
Accounts
The app does not ask you to sign in and does not create an account. It collects no name, no email address and no phone number.
Children
Hi Baby! is made for expectant parents. It is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 13.
Deleting your data
Delete a single visit from inside it, using the trash icon. To remove everything, delete the app: the diary lives only on the device, so it is removed with the app. There is no server copy to request the deletion of.
Analytics and crash data already sent can be deleted on request — write to the address below and say roughly when you used the app, so the right records can be found.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will also be described in the app's release notes on the App Store.
